Follow the steps below to add a hanging indent in Google Slides.

1. Highlight the Text

Select the text you want to format by clicking and dragging over it. This makes sure the hanging indent applies only to the highlighted text.

2. Show the Ruler

Go to View in the top menu and choose Show Ruler if it isn’t visible. The ruler allows you to adjust the indent for the text.

3. Adjust the Indent

On the ruler, drag the blue triangle (Left Indent) to the right, then drag the blue rectangle (First Line Indent) back to the left margin. This creates the hanging indent with the first line at the margin and the rest indented.
