Embed Website in Google Slides (The Right Way in 2024)
In this article, we will learn how to embed a website in Google Slides by using linked objects. Simply follow the steps below.
How to Embed a Website in Google Slides
Google Slides doesn’t directly support embedding entire web pages. However, you can use linked objects like images or screenshots of the webpage that link to the actual website. Follow the steps below to embed a website in Google Slides using this workaround method.
1. Capture a Screenshot of the Website
Open the website you want to embed in your browser. Let’s use the UNICEF website for this example. Use your computer’s screenshot functionality to capture the desired area of the website. On Windows, you can use the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch. On Mac, use Shift + Command + 4 to select and capture a specific area. Then save the screenshot to your computer.

2. Insert the Screenshot into Google Slides
Navigate to the slide where you want to add the website and click on Insert in the top menu. Select Image then choose Upload from computer.

3. Format the Image
Select the screenshot file you saved earlier and click Open to insert it into the slide. With the image selected, you can resize or reposition it according to your needs. You can also use the Format Options in the toolbar to add a border or drop shadow to make it stand out (optional).

4. Add a Hyperlink to the Screenshot
Click on the image you just inserted to select it. Click on the Insert link in the top menu then select Link or simply press Ctrl+K on your keyboard.

5. Insert the URL of the Website
In the dialog box that appears, type or paste the URL of the website you want to link to and click Apply.

6. Test the Link
Start the slideshow by clicking on the Slideshow button. Navigate to the slide with your embedded website screenshot. Click on the image to ensure it opens the link to the website in a new browser tab.
